Midtown Toronto draws in crowds for its mix of great amenities and access to nature. Unlike in most of downtown Toronto, the midtown area is close to some of Toronto’s best parks. So, if you are in the mood for a picnic in the sun or a hike beneath the trees, check out some of these locations.
Eglinton Park
Minutes away, Eglinton Park is the closest park to Fleming College Toronto’s campus. The park boasts indoor and outdoor skating rinks, a pool, large soccer fields, and lots of trees for shade.
Sherwood Park
Full of foliage and trails made of both soil and wood, Sherwood Park will make you feel like you are outside the city. If you are in the mood for a longer hike, the park is also connected to Sunnybrook Park and Seton Park near the Ontario Science Centre.
Mt Pleasant Cemetery
You might think hiking through a cemetery sounds creepy, but this is one of the most popular parks in Toronto. On any day, you can see joggers and strollers among the trees, flowers, and monuments of this national historical site.
Beltline Trail
A local favourite, this 9 km hiking and cycling trail follows a stream that connects to marshland. It includes detours to Chorley Park Trail and Don Valley brickworks park, which is enclosed by the Don River.
